6月30日 Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 2 reviewIs Service Pack 2 enough to stop everyone abandoning Vista for Windows 7? According to the NEWS Microsoft released the Vista SP 2, On first launch, SP2 complained that we had to remove Swedish language support before it could continue. There were no further hassles though, and 33 minutes and two reboots later, the service pack was installed. Small visual changes include a permanent Bluetooth applet in the Control Panel, a new Indexing option or two (if you didn't have Search 4) and Blu-ray disc format options. Otherwise, SP2 Vista looks much like SP1. Our performance tests showed that boot and shutdown times weren't significantly affected. Browsing over time felt a little snappier, though. The best results appeared with a couple of external USB drives, which copied large files around 10 per cent faster. Curiously, another drive's performance didn't change – so your mileage may vary. SP2 isn't exciting, then, but it improved our PC's performance just a little – and if you're currently experiencing any Vista-related problems then there's a possibility it'll do the same for you. So here is some of the main tips to perform speed, follow the instruction as given below. This article discusses how to use the tools available in Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) and Windows Vista to more efficiently maintain your computer and safeguard your privacy when you're online. 1. Free up disk space By freeing disk space, you can improve the performance of
your computer. The Disk Cleanup tool helps you free up space on your hard disk.
The utility identifies files that you can safely delete, and then enables you
to choose whether you want to delete some or all of the identified files.
Tip: Typically, temporary Internet files take the most amount of space because the browser caches each page you visit for faster access later. To use Disk Cleanup
Choose the files that you want to delete.
After a few minutes, the process completes and the Disk Cleanup dialog box closes, leaving your computer cleaner and performing better. 2. Speed up access to data Disk fragmentation slows the overall performance of your system. When files are fragmented, the computer must search the hard disk when the file is opened to piece it back together. The response time can be significantly longer. Disk Defragmenter is a Windows utility that consolidates fragmented files and folders on your computer's hard disk so that each occupies a single space on the disk. With your files stored neatly end-to-end, without fragmentation, reading and writing to the disk speeds up. When to run Disk Defragmenter In addition to running Disk Defragmenter at regular intervals—monthly is optimal—there are other times you should run it too, such as when:
To use Disk Defragmenter:
Click Analyze to start the Disk Defragmenter.
Tip: You should analyze a volume before defragmenting it to get an estimate of how long the defragmentation process will take.
After the defragmentation is complete, Disk Defragmenter displays the results.
3. Detect and repair disk errors In addition to running Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter to optimize the performance of your computer, you can check the integrity of the files stored on your hard disk by running the Error Checking utility. As you use your hard drive, it can develop bad sectors. Bad sectors slow down hard disk performance and sometimes make data writing (such as file saving) difficult, or even impossible. The Error Checking utility scans the hard drive for bad sectors, and scans for file system errors to see whether certain files or folders are misplaced. If you use your computer daily, you should run this utility once a week to help prevent data loss. To run the Error Checking utility:
Tip: Only select the "Automatically fix file system errors" check box if you think that your disk contains bad sectors. 4. Protect your computer against spyware Spyware collects personal information without letting you know and without asking for permission. From the Web sites you visit to usernames and passwords, spyware can put you and your confidential information at risk. In addition to privacy concerns, spyware can hamper your computer's performance. To combat spyware, you might want to consider using Microsoft Windows Defender, which is included in Windows Vista, and is available as a free download for Microsoft XP SP2. Alternatively, there are other free anti-spyware software programs available. 5. Learn all about ReadyBoost If you're using Windows Vista, you can use ReadyBoost to speed up your system. A new concept in adding memory to a system, it allows you to use non-volatile flash memory—like a USB flash drive or a memory card—to improve performance without having to add additional memory

remember that the free sites offering you to download bearing gifts -- such as tool bars, screen savers, email enhancers and shopping companions -- are malware
in disguise. but since they may serve
some useful purpose, but they may also violate your privacy, flood you with
pop ups, and act as a funnel for the covert installation of other unwanted
programs and make your system infected.
PurityScan is a software package that claims to identify and remove unwanted adult content that might be lurking on your computer. PurityScan clearly falls into the category of adware, and perhaps spyware. By their own admission, when PurityScan is installed, you also get the "OIN client software", which will periodically display advertisements (popups) and monitor the websites you visit while connected to the Internet. Although PurityScan does not install by itself, there are claims that the automatic update feature in this software may install third party adware products. PurityScan does have a Privacy Policy which states that they will not use any collected information to identify you personally, but it's troubling that the software license agreement (which you must accept to install the software) gives the company the right to change that Privacy Policy at any time, and without notice. Impure Intentions? Even though it may have some redeeming qualities, because of these negative aspects of the PurityScan software, I recommend that you do NOT install it, and that it be removed as soon as possible if you do have it on your computer. But as others have noted, PurityScan seems to morph, resisting virus removal, and litters your system with other programs that may need to be removed separately. There is a PurityScan uninstaller included with recent versions of the program, which you can access by going to the Windows Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs. If you don't see "PurityScan by OIN" in the list of installed software, you can download the uninstaller from the PurityScan website. After installing PurityScan on a test machine, and then running the uninstaller, my anti-virus program (eTrust EZ Anti-Virus) still found two infected files after rebooting the machine. I should also point out that my anti-virus program blocked me from installing PurityScan on my first attempt, quarantining one of the PurityScan program files. I strongly recommend that you run a full scan with BOTH anti-virus AND anti-spyware software after removing PurityScan. (See my recommedations for the best free anti-virus AND anti-spyware protection.) Still Have Problems? If you've run the uninstaller and the recommended scans, and you still have problems with PurityScan or any other adware that it may have foisted on your computer, the System Restore tool may help. If you can remember the most recent time when your computer was working correctly, System Restore will roll back all system changes to that point, removing PurityScan and related malware. The main problem using outlook express is that Microsoft has not included or added any backup tool internally in the Outlook Express. After attempting it myself, I began to think that they purposely made it hard to make a backup of your emails and address book. Here's a step by step guide to burning a backup CD with your Outlook Express goodies...
Start by putting a blank CD in the computer. You should see a little popup window asking what you want to do next. Select "Open Writable CD Folder" and press OK. If your computer doesn't prompt for an action when you insert the CD, just go to My Computer and open the CD Drive folder.
To backup your Outlook Express email messages, follow the instructions given below:--
1. Open Outlook Express. On the Tools menu, click Options.
2. On the Maintenance tab, click Store Folder.
3. Select the folder location (hold down left mouse button and drag across the folder name from
left to right) then press CTRL+C to copy the location.
Note: Part of the folder name may be hidden, so be sure to copy the entire string. In a typical Outlook Express installation, the folder name will be something like this, but the characters in the brackets will be different for each computer:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{3D3B1757-A978FC42}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
4. Click Cancel twice to close the dialog box.
5. Close Outlook Express.
6. Click Start, and then click Run.
7. In the Open box, press CTRL+V to paste in the folder name, then click OK.
8. When the folder opens in a new window, click Edit, then Select All.
9. Drag the selected email folders to the CD Drive folder.
To backup your Microsoft Outlook Express address book, follow this procedure:
1. Click File, Export, then Address Book.
2. Click Text File (Comma Separated Values), then Export.
3. In the File Name box, type C:\addrbook.csv, then click Next and Finish.
4. Locate the C:\addrbook.csv file using My Computer, then drag it to the CD Drive folder.
If you want to go beyond backing up your messages and address book, you can also back up your email account
information. This includes your email user name, password, mail servers, and other settings that you specified when creating the account in Outlook Express. To backup your account data, follow this procedure:
1. Click Tools, then Accounts
2. Click the Mail tab, then select the account you want to export
3. Click Export
4. In the Save In box, type C:\ACCTNAME.iaf, then click Next and Finish. (The "ACCTNAME" will be the actual account
name, already filled in for you -- no need to change it.)
5. Locate the C:\ACCTNAME.iaf file using My Computer, then drag it to the CD Drive folder.
Note: If you have multiple Identities in Outlook Express, you must repeat the message, address book and account backup process for each identity, storing them separately, so you can identify them later in case they need to be restored from backup.
Now go to the CD Drive folder, click on "Write these files to CD" and the CD Writing Wizard will help you complete the process of burning the CD in just a few clicks.
6月23日 Make Windows XP Run Faster!I hereby inform that here is some way to make your windows xp operating system faster and more reliable. So I request you please read the given below methods carefully and then try to perform. INGREDIENTS: * 1 tbsp Windows Updates * 2 cups Virus/Malware remover * 3 lbs Software Cleanup powder * 2 tbsp Hard Disk Scrubber * 1 slice Defrag * 1 tsp Startup Weeder * 1/2 cup Registry Shavings * 2 cups Virtual Memory Sanitizer * 1 Extraneous Services Remover
DIRECTIONS 1. Mix all ingredients together in large bowl 2. Sprinkle over monitor, keyboard and system unit 3. Click to restart
Apply Windows Updates If you run Windows and you use the Internet, but you must keep your system updated or up to date with the system patches that come out in response to the privacy and security exploits that are discovered every week. Failure to do so is an open invitation to hackers and crackers to invade your privacy and enslave your computer in a spam spewing network. To get the latest fixes and configure your system for automatic updates, open Internet Explorer, click on Tools, then Windows Update. Clean out Viruses and Malware Make sure that if you are running a good anti-virus program, with automatic updates? Have you scanned your system for spyware, adware and other unwanted pests? If not, then try to run scanning your computer will the best for your computer. Viruses and malware can slow down your system a LOT, because they use your resources to generate popup ads, send spam, and often interfere with the operation of good programs.
Remove Unnecessary Software You may have a bunch of software packages on your hard drive that are no longer needed, or they were gratuitously installed when you downloaded some other package. Toolbars, file-sharing programs, free email enhancers, online shopping "companions" and download managers are notorious for this practice. These uninvited guests can put a big drag on your startup time, cause web pages to load slowly, and generally bog down your computer. Go to Control Panel, then Add/Remove Software to see what packages are installed. Remove the ones you know you don't need, and do a web search to learn about the ones you're not sure about.
Scrub That Hard Disk Both Windows and application programs tend to leave temporary files lying around on your hard drive, taking up space needlessly. A hard drive that is close to being full can cause Windows to act strangely, and will slow down or interfere with efficient disk access and virtual memory operations. And if you surf the web a lot, your temporary internet files folder can become quite large, causing Internet Explorer to slow down or malfunction. Cleaning up unneeded files, scanning for disk errors and defragmenting the hard drive can help to restore some zip to your system. First, open My Computer, right-click on the C: Drive icon, select Properties, then click on Disk Cleanup. (Optional: Select the More Options tab to find and remove even more unwanted files.) To run a defrag, open My Computer, right-click on the C: Drive icon, select Properties, then Tools. Click the Check Now button to scan your disk for errors. When the scan is complete, click the Defragment Now button to run the defrag, which reorganizes your hard disk so Windows can find and access files more efficiently. (It's highly recommended that you close all running programs and disable your screen saver before running a defrag. Otherwise, updates to your files may trigger defrag to restart endlessly.) Okay, Now Take a Breath... We're more than half-way done with the process of cleaning the junk out of your computer. The rest of the steps may seem a little more geeky, and you can skip any or all of them if you don't feel comfortable digging a little deeper into the workings of the Windows operating system. But there is definitely bang for the buck here. Some of peskiest Windows performance problems can be solved by giving attention to these areas.
Slim Your Startup Selections There are certain programs that Windows will start every time you boot up your system, and during the startup phase, they're all jockeying for a slice of your CPU. Extra or unwanted items in the startup list will definitely increase your startup time, perhaps by several minutes. To manage the list of startup programs, click on Start / Run, then type MSCONFIG. Press Enter, then select the Startup tab. If you see items in the list you know you don't need to run at startup time, UNcheck the box(es) next to them and press Apply. Some common examples are things related to AOL, RealPlayer, Napster, instant messengers , and video managers. If you're not sure about an item, no big deal. You can turn it off, restart your PC, and see if everything seems to work. If not, you can always go back and re-enable an item in the Startup list. This helpful list or this page may help you decide what to keep or drop.
Clean Your Registry The Windows Registry is a database that enables the operating system to track the relationships between hardware and software. Unfortunately, problems with the registry can make Windows run slower. Sometimes an "orphaned" registry entry can confuse Windows during startup and cause a delay. And in general, slimming down your registry will make Windows run faster. There are several utility programs that will clean your system registry of unnecessary and erroneous entries. Read more about the Windows registry, and find some free programs you can use to correct registry problems in my article Do I Need a Registry Cleaner?
RAM and Virtual Memory Settings When you run out of physical (RAM) memory, Windows will use a check of your hard disk to create virtual memory. This is a nice feature, because it allows application programs to access huge amounts of memory. The only problem with virtual memory is that it's a lot slower than real RAM. So installing extra RAM on the system board is a good idea because it's pretty cheap and easy to pop in. Find out how much your system will accommodate and install the maximum amount. Extra RAM will probably do more to boost your overall system performance than anything else! But getting back to Virtual Memory, it's wise to let Windows manage the amount, unless you are a Wizard, with a capital W. Go to Control Panel / System / Advanced, then press the Settings button under Performance. Click Advanced again, then press the Change button under Virtual Memory. If System managed size is selected, you're all set. If you want to fiddle with the Custom Size options, be my guest! Turn Off Extraneous System Services We're heading into uber-geek territory here, so be forewarned. Windows doesn't know exactly how you're going to use your computer, so it starts a whole bunch of system services that manage network connections, database access, error reporting, remote access and other nerdy-sounding things. You may not need all these services, and disabling some of them can reduce your startup time and system overhead. But choosing which ones to nuke is a bit daunting, unless you are an expert on Windows operating system internals. Here's my advice... look at these explanations and advice then disable only the ones that you're sure about. If you encounter a problem, you can always go back and turn a service back on. Though less evident now with later versions of Windows (such as Windows XP and Windows Vista), DLL files can be the single most annoying scourge someone experiencing DLL errors could possibly be forced to endure. The only consolation that you can offer someone living in DLL hell (see below) is that, at the very least, it’s not Windows 95 they are dealing with. What is a DLL and What Causes the Windows DLL Error? Most Windows DLL errors are caused by missing DLL files, corrupt DLL files, or multiple versions of various DLL files (though this has been less of an issue since clean-up methods have been put in place since 2001). Since a DLL file plays an important role in how your computer is run, having an error with one can be a real pain. A DLL is Microsoft’s implementation of the shared library concept. Not sure what that means? Essentially it means that the information contained with the DLL file can be shared across multiple paths and programs, allowing your computer to multi-task more efficiently and run on a small RAM footprint. DLL files come in a few different extensions: .dll, .ocx (for libraries containing ActiveX controls), and .drv (for legacy system drivers). What’s important to remember is that a DLL file can contain code, data, or resources in any combination. In older versions of Windows (Windows 3.1 right up to Windows 2000) DLL errors were much more common than in Windows XP/Windows Vista. This is because it was possible to have multiple versions of the same DLL file, causing programs to often reference the wrong one. This resulted in incompatibilities, system crashing, and poor system performance in general. It was aptly nicknamed “DLL hell”, as it could take even an educated person quite a while to determine the source of, and the solution to, the problem. Resolving the Windows DLL Error If you have an error repair suite, resolving a DLL error is usually as simple as booting up the program and running it. Most DLL errors are pretty standard in that it’s typically the same DLL files that are corrupt or missing. If your error repair suite is unable to replace or repair the DLL file in question, however, you have online resources available to you:

IP Address conflicts between two computers normally render either one or both of them unusable for network operations. Why and How IP Address Conflicts Two computers can acquire conflicting IP addresses in any of several ways given below:- 1. A System Administrator assigns two computers on the LAN the same static IP address. 2. A system administrator assigns a computer a static IP address within the local network's DHCP range (dynamic IP range), and the same address is automatically assigned by the LAN DHCP server. 3. A malfunction in the network's DHCP server allows the same dynamic address to automatically be assigned to multiple computers. 4. Internet Service Provider (ISP) accidentally assigns two customers the same IP address (either statically or dynamically). 5. A mobile computer is put into standby / hibernate mode and then awakened later. Recognizing IP Address Conflicts On most Microsoft Windows computers, if you attempt to set a fixed (static) IP address that is already active on the local network, you will receive the following pop-up error message: The static IP address that was just configured is already in use on the network. Please reconfigure a different IP address. On newer Microsoft Windows computers having dynamic IP conflicts, you should receive a balloon error message in the Taskbar as soon as the operating system detects the issue: There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network. Sometimes, especially on older Windows computers, a message similar to the following may instead appear in a pop-up window: The system has detected a conflict for IP address... On Mac or Linux computers, a similar message will normally appear on screen.
Resolving IP Address Conflicts 1. For networks where IP addresses are fixed (statically assigned), ensure each local host is configured with a unique IP address. 2. If your computer has a dynamically assigned address, releasing and renewing its IP address can workaround IP address conflicts. See also - How to Release / Renew IP Addresses on Windows 3. If your home router is believed to have a faulty DHCP server causing IP conflicts on the home network, upgrading the router firmware may resolve this problem. There are six types of Windows 7 Operating Systems, but still Windows 7 Ultimate is running and performing better than previous OS Windows Vista and but windows 7 is running RC1 and will be released in October 22 – 09. The purposes of this edition that to achieve the target and to interact the users with much more features. In other word we can say Windows 7 Ultimate / Enterprise Edition since all these are from Microsoft Windows Family. Some of the main feature and advantages of both these Windows are discussed below. I want to inform you about the source of this article is as given below, Where some thing is modified but some of them are as edited in source page. BitLocker encryption: BitLocker drive encryption allows an entire drive to be encrypted, protecting its contents from unauthorized access if the computer is lost or stolen. Windows 7 setup makes it easier to enable this encryption, because it automatically creates the required system partition as part of a clean installation. BitLocker To Go is a brand-new feature in Windows 7 that allows encryption of flash drives so that sensitive data isn’t at risk if they’re lost or stolen. Boot from VHD: One of the best features of Windows 7 families is that it allows you to create and mount a Virtual Hard Drive (VHD) file using the built-in Disk Management tool. So don’t worry this is one of the best feature in all editions of windows 7 version. Language packs: There is more than 30 language packs waiting for you if want to use windows 7 Ultimate and its update. These packs change the Windows 7 interface completely, allowing you to display menus, dialog boxes, and other elements in a language other than the base language your copy of Windows uses. If you use a lesser edition of Windows 7, you can always install a language input pack, which translates about 80% of the Windows interface but leaves the remaining 20% in the base language. This could be a big deal for Windows multilingual users. Enterprise features: If your network includes a server running Windows Server 2008 R2, you can take advantage of a couple of interesting new features that only work in combination with Windows 7. BrancheCache reportedly increases network responsiveness of applications and is designed for scenarios where an application is running on a server in the main office and workers in a branch office have to access it over a slow link. DirectAccess provides secure connections (without a VPN) between a client PC running Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Everyone I’ve talked to who has used this feature raves about it. Location-aware printing: You have a notebook PC that’s joined to a domain at work. When you come home, you want to connect to local resources. The purpose of this feature is to ensure that you find the correct printer based on your location. (It would be a shame to realize that you’ve just printed a resume and cover letter to a potential new employer on a shared printer back at the office where you currently work, wouldn’t it?) Security and Reliability: The most important addition here is a feature called AppLocker, which enables administrators of enterprise networks to create an authorized list of programs that users can install and run. You certainly wouldn’t want to try this sort of aggressive whitelisting on your own PC, but in a high-security, tightly managed enterprise, it’s a good way to make sure untrusted code never makes it onto a networked PC.

Operating Systems Services
Some of the Services of Operating System are as mentioned below. Program Execution The main purposes of the computer system are to allow the users to execute the programs. There is program environment the Operating System where users can conveniently run programs. The user does not have to worry about the memory allocation or multitasking or anything. These things are taken care of by the operating systems. All we that the running a program involves the allocating and deal locating memory, CPU scheduling in case of multi-process. These functions cannot be given to the user-level programs. So user-level programs cannot help the user to run programs independently without the help from operating systems. I/O Operations Input Output operation System means that when we enter any thing using keyboard is called input where after that it processed using processor and then gives a result or display is called output, or in other word we can say that each program requires an input and produces output. This involves the use of I/O. The operating systems hides the user the details of underlying hardware for the I/O. All the user sees is that the I/O has been performed without any details. So the operating systems by providing I/O makes it convenient for the users to run programs. For efficiently and protection users cannot control I/O so
this service cannot be provided by user-level programs. File System Manipulation The output of a program may need to be written into new files or input taken from some files. The operating systems provides this service. The user does not have to worry about secondary storage management. User gives a command for reading or writing to a file and sees his her task accomplished. Thus operating systems makes it easier for user programs to accomplished their task. This service involves secondary storage management. The speed of I/O that depends on secondary storage management is critical to the speed of many programs and hence I think it is best relegated to the operating systems to manage it than giving individual users the control of it. It is not difficult for the user-level programs to provide these services but for above mentioned reasons it is best if this service s left with operating system. Communications There are instances where processes need to communicate with
each other to exchange information. It may be between processes running on the
same computer or running on the different computers. By providing this service
the operating system relieves the user of the worry of passing messages between
processes. In case where the messages need to be passed to processes on the
other computers through a network it can be done by the user programs. The user
program may be customized to the specifics of the hardware through which the
message transits and provides the service interface to the operating system. Error Detection An error is one part of the system may cause malfunctioning of the complete system. To avoid such a situation the operating system constantly monitors the system for detecting the errors. This relieves the user of the worry of errors propagating to various part of the system and causing malfunctioning. This service cannot allowed to be handled by user programs because it involves monitoring and in cases altering area of memory or deallocation of memory for a faulty process. Or may be relinquishing the CPU of a process that goes into an infinite loop. These tasks are too critical to be handed over to the user programs. A user program if given these privileges can interfere with the correct (normal) operation of the operating systems. Source:--

By using a commandhowever this much more easy than GUI mode but each and every person want to use GUI mode. Since because it is hard to remember commands and formula to perform this or using this method. In GUI mode only we open and double click to delete files and folder etc. Here are some important command which will help you. :----------------------- Click on Start

Delete Temporary Internet Files RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 8 2. Delete Cookies RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2 3. Delete History RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 1 4. Delete Form Data RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 16 5. Delete Stored Passwords RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 32 5. Delete All RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 255 6. Delete All with the "Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons" options selected RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351 7. Now it seems that the interesting bit is that you can combine the numbers to get 2 or more functions at the same time. For example, type: RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 9 This will delete the files (+8) and history (+1) in one step. You can incorporate this into a logoff script, and assign it to users by using Group Policy (GPO). Creating a shortcut You can create a shortcut and place it on your desktop or Quick Launch toolbar. Right-click on the Desktop, select New > Shortcut. In the Create Shortcut window, paste one of the above commands. Give it an appropriate name, and press Finish. You can also change the shortcut icon by right-clicking on it and selecting Properties. Next press the Change Icon button. You can use the following file to find some interesting icons for the shortcut: %SystemRoot%'System32'shell32.dll 6月1日 How to Configure ISA Server and to Publish OWA
Introduction The main Purposes of ISA Server is to use traditional mail server protocols (SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, and so on) to be published easily under the Server Publishing Rules node. The process and method used to configure ISA Server to which allow external clients to access the internal Outlook Web Access Server, do the following four steps to proceed.
Note: Do not include the "http://" or the "https://" portion of the URL in the Destination box.
Note: If the "back-end" Exchange server does not hold the Web client's mailbox, the redirection does not work. If you have a farm of Exchange 2000 servers that share the same e-mail domain namespace, it is not recommended that you use ISA as a "front-end" server.
